FallScape - A program to help you prevent falls
Did you know that 1 in 3 adults aged 65 and older falls every year? Falls can be devastating, leading to life-altering injury, loss of independence or even death. However, falls are NOT an inevitable part of aging.
Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics aren’t just for emergencies anymore! The Thetford Fire Department and Fast Squad is teaming up with the Vermont Department of Health to bring you a new falls prevention program, called FallScape, as part of a nationwide community health initiative to promote wellness, independent living and preventive medicine.
The FallScape program representative for Thetford is Mariah Whitcomb, Deputy Chief of the Thetford Fire Department. She can schedule an appointment in your home or other location of your choosing. At this appointment, she will work with you to complete the guided self-discovery and interactive multimedia learning experience.
